Inside Activity

A Letter of Thanksgiving
Write a letter to your Grandparent or someone very special to you. This will be a Thankful Letter. Your letter will be made up of words mixed with drawings. For example…

Dear Gigi,
I am so happy you are my Grandmother. You are very special to me. Here are the things you do
that make me happy.
(Draw a picture of cookies) (Draw a picture of a hug)
(Draw a picture of Gigi reading a book to me)
During this season of Thanksgiving and I want you to know that I am thankful for you..
Love,
Lacy

Ask an adult to help you mail your letter to your Grandparent. They will be so happy to receive
this letter of love!

Outside Activity

Enjoy a Pile of Leaves
Grab a rake and look for a tree that has dropped its leaves. Rake them into a large pile, gather your siblings or your friends and take turns throwing them into the air or jumping into the pile of leaves. This is how we enjoyed the trees and leaves when I was little!

Togetherness Activity

Stargaze Together
The evening sky is beautiful in autumn. Ask your parents and siblings to join you on a star gazing adventure.

Grab blankets, pillows and your pet and lie down on your backs and watch the last colors leave the sky. Count the stars as they begin to show themselves. Try doing this on nights when the moon is smaller so that there is less moonlight and more starlight.

Look for shooting stars. Try to find Orion’s belt or red eye. Look for the Big Dipper and Little Dipper. If you live further north, you may even see the Northern lights! Make a rule that nobody brings their phone outside. (All research of the sky needs to happen BEFORE you go outside.)

You’ll be amazed at all the wonderful conversations you will have on these evenings. Do it often!
